BBC tyneside!

BBC Tyne have reported on our occupation - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/tyne/7937651.stm

We've been occupying now for over 24 hours. We are currently deciding our moves for tonight.

We have been offered a series of facilitated negotiations with the registrar and other members of university management which we will demand: start tomorrow, include the Vice Chancellor and anyone from the Gaza Solidarity Campaign that wish to be present. If this declaration is signed by John Hogan, we will leave the occupation tonight and build the campaign on the outside, not ruling out direct action if those negotiations are unsatisfactory to our demands. If not, we stay.

  1. I HAVE RECIEVED A REPLY TO A LETTER I WROTE TO JOHN HOGAN ABOUT YOUR FOOD SUPPLY

"You have made a specific point about food. Can I make clear that I do not want the students occupying University property. As a gesture of good will and to facilitate their discussions about the points I have made, I have said to them that they can bring some lunch into the building without any precondition for the future. The occupation cannot go on indefinitely, as soon as it ends we can talk.
You will appreciate that I have been and will be rather busy so I hope you will forgive me if this does not become a prolonged e-mail exchange"

IS THIS CORRECT HAVE THEY ALLLOWED FOOD IN ?

  2. They allowed food in for a short time around lunch. Since then (around 2pm) no food has been allowed in. No food was allowed in this morning before midday. We are still trying to establish this basic right!
